Alcon, USA
The Alcon PurePoint™ ophthalmic green laser (Alcon, USA) enables peripheral or barrier laser photocoagulation via laser exposure in cases of retinal tears and/or peripheral retinal degeneration, as well as ocular trauma – which remains a simple and effective method for preventing retinal detachment to this day.
A unique combination of capabilities for unparalleled control.
PUREPOINT® is a diode‑pumped semiconductor laser that enables peripheral prophylactic laser photocoagulation (PPLP), barrier laser photocoagulation in cases of retinal tears, peripheral retinal degeneration, myopia, and ocular trauma – which remains the simplest and most effective method for preventing retinal detachment today.
The laser produces a visible green laser beam at 532 nm and a visible aiming beam from the diode laser at 635 nm (635 nm is the average value between 630–640 nm).
The system also supports a wide range of high‑quality laser endoprobes and is compatible with various types of slit lamps.
Radiation parameters are controlled via adjustment knobs located on the front panel and via a foot pedal. Parameters are displayed on a colour LCD screen.
The laser can be used during vitreoretinal surgery, when laser radiation is used for photocoagulation of the retina or tissues via a special endo‑ocular laser probe connected directly to the laser, as well as with a slit lamp for outpatient surgical procedures. In the latter case, the slit lamp is connected to the laser via a special optical adapter.
PUREPOINT® is a next‑generation ophthalmic laser that combines ease of use, efficiency, and safety. It is capable of meeting the numerous and diverse requirements of the laser ophthalmic surgeon, enabling them to achieve outstanding results.
