Friends, I had laser vision correction! Now I see 100%, and I’m entering the new year with new vision. Since childhood, from about the age of 10, my vision started to deteriorate, and I forgot what it was like to be free of glasses or contact lenses. In terms of feeling, it’s as if you’re constantly wearing contacts, and your subconscious automatically thinks it’s time to take them out (since wearing them without removal is bad for your eyes).
My vision was almost –5 (myopia). At a distance of 5–7 metres, I couldn’t recognise familiar faces (without glasses, and sometimes even with them). It was funny that sometimes I would walk up to someone and say hello – only to realise it wasn’t the person I thought, and they weren’t even an acquaintance 😄. Because of the limited visible radius around you, you gradually start to feel a certain insecurity, vulnerability. Everyone can see you, but you can’t see everything or everyone around you.
In short, now I have a pleasant inner feeling of joy when I see people in the distance, their emotions, a squirrel gnawing on something in a tree crown – I can distinguish textures from afar. It’s become genuinely enjoyable to go for walks. I have to hold displays farther away (phone at arm’s length, monitor), because now my brain thinks it’s too close, and it’s still adapting. I’ve also had to adjust to not automatically retouching faces – now I see every freckle, every imperfection 😄😂. Everything is great, the world has become even more beautiful, and I’m very happy. I feel more confident 💪. This is an incredible upgrade, and I strongly recommend everyone with poor vision to stop putting it off. Yes, it’s scary, and the day of the surgery is painfully unpleasant (although it also depends on the LVC method), but it’s worth it! The day after surgery, you see perfectly. I can share many details that will dispel any doubts you might have. Huge thanks to the clinic @av_almaty. I wish everyone to value good vision, be healthy in all aspects, and take care of yourselves 💜🙏🏼.
