Finally, what I had dreamed of for several years has happened! 😭😍 I had laser vision correction! 👁️✨ It’s simply a miracle – I feel as if I’ve been reborn. The feeling of seeing everything clearly with my own eyes is incredible; the world turns out to be so beautiful 🤩😭💔. Huge thanks to my beloved husband for making my dream come true and for his endless support 🫂❤️. I also want to express great gratitude to the Astana Vision clinic @av_astana in Astana and to my doctor, Almukhambetova Daniya Kuzhakhmetovna – they are true professionals in their field 🔝🩵.
My vision started to deteriorate during my student years, but it was quite tolerable – I only wore glasses at the cinema. However, after giving birth, it began to decline rapidly. Previously it was –1, but before the correction it was –6 and –7, plus astigmatism 😖. Poor vision severely affected my quality of life: constant headaches, depression and apathy, frown lines from squinting, I always felt insecure, lost, and vulnerable because I couldn’t see everything clearly in front of me, especially people’s faces and emotions – I couldn’t recognise my husband and children at a distance, let alone acquaintances 😅. In short, I lived as if in a fog. I practically wore glasses all the time, and even gave birth to Siyana in my glasses because I was afraid I wouldn’t see her face clearly 🥹 (I never wore contact lenses in my life because I have a phobia of putting foreign objects in my eyes 🥶).
I couldn’t go on living like that, and in May I decided to have the surgery – it had been more than six months since I finished breastfeeding. I chose the @av_astana clinic, went for a vision diagnostic (cost 15,000 tenge ~ 3,000 roubles), and I was approved for correction using the Femto LASIK method 🙌🏻. The cost for both eyes was 450,000 tenge (~92,000 roubles at the current exchange rate).
In advance, I had a blood test for hepatitis B and C (about 7,000 tenge). On the appointed day, I came to the clinic (no waiting list for surgery, as in Yakutsk, for example – I chose the nearest convenient date and time myself 👍🏻), without makeup or perfume, and with dark sunglasses as a must. There were four of us girls. We put on gowns, caps, and slippers, and went into the waiting room. Anaesthetic drops were instilled for everyone. Then we were called into the operating room one by one. I was the last one, and the time dragged on terribly long, which made my anxiety and fear grow 🫣. CONTINUED IN THE COMMENTS 👇🏻.
