Axial Length
The interferometer integrated into Aladdin also measures central corneal thickness (CCT), anterior chamber depth (ACD), and lens thickness (LT). You obtain a full spectrum of parameters required for cataract surgery. Additionally, you have the ability to assess corneal aberrations, keratoconus, and the results of previous corneal refractive procedures. The device requires only one capture for all of this.

Myopia Progression Analysis
Use the RX/AL Trends module – a unique tool for tracking and analyzing axial length changes.

By combining biometric data obtained through interferometry and manually entered refraction parameters, Aladdin automatically generates quantitative reports on myopia progression.

After entering the patient’s refraction values, Aladdin performs 7 critical measurements and automatically generates correlation graphs of refraction and biometric parameter changes. Changes can be assessed over 3, 6, and 12 months. Graph analysis allows evaluation of the effectiveness of chosen myopia correction and treatment methods and provides evidence to justify continuing or changing treatment strategies to parents and patients. An additional tab enables differential topographic map generation from visit to visit, which is a very convenient tool for orthokeratology specialists.

Built‑in Barrett Formulas
These formulas were developed by Dr. Graham D. Barrett (Barrett Formula Suite) in 2013. The formulas account for the posterior corneal surface and lens position for each individual patient, rather than calculating IOL power by estimating lens thickness based on patient age.

The Universal II formula, developed by Dr. Barrett, takes lens thickness and shape into account, which is an advanced method for predicting cylinder power. The formula can predict posterior corneal curvature for each patient using a theoretical model rather than specific measurements.

Built‑in Olsen Formula
ALADDIN HW3.0 enables precise measurement of ocular physical parameters, including central corneal thickness and lens thickness. These measurements, combined with the built‑in Olsen formula for IOL calculation, provide accurate IOL power calculation for virtually every eye type regardless of size. The Olsen formula uses a recent development by Dr. Olsen called the C‑constant, which predicts the effective lens position (ELP) during IOL implantation.
