Opening of a clinic in Oskemen, which within just a few years grew 15‑fold across all metrics and became a Regional Ophthalmological Centre with a team of more than 10 highly experienced doctors.
Appointment of Igor Aleksandrovich Remesnikov, Candidate of Medical Sciences and leading refractive surgeon from the Fedorov Clinic (Russia), to head the clinic in Astana. At the ASTANA VISION clinic in Shymkent, the implantation of the AcrySof IQ Vivity intraocular lens from Alcon was successfully performed for the first time in Kazakhstan. This innovative lens features wavefront‑shaping technology and has a low level of unwanted optical phenomena, making it unique on the global market. The implantation surgery was performed by the Director of the Shymkent clinic, leading cataract and vitreoretinal ophthalmic surgeon, and member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) – Abdrakhmanov Aitman Kairović.
At the ASTANA VISION clinic in Astana, laser vision correction using the SmartSight method was performed for the first time in the CIS, using the latest SCHWIND ATOS laser. This landmark event underscores the clinic’s leading role in adopting the most advanced technologies and its ongoing commitment to providing high‑quality medical care to patients. 26 years ago, Kim Vladimir Ukhenovich performed the first lens surgery within the walls of his own clinic. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of ophthalmology, not only for Karaganda, Shymkent, or Astana, but for all of Kazakhstan.
